Safe cleaner to disinfect feeders/waterers with?

Well, since Dawn is safe to wash birds covered in oil, and we have used it on our indoor animals food and water bowls for years, that is what we use. Obviously we have to rinse well, but it has worked well for us. Sadly to our wallets we discovered that vinegar or a bleach would rust water can
 
Thanks for all your input! I'm going with dish soap! I clean my dishes and my dog's bowls with it, so why not chicken feeders? It smells much better than bleach or vinegar. I'll probably still use bleach or vinegar occasionally for a thorough cleaning, though.
 
I will never use bleach outside in the yard again. I used a fairly strong solution to clean up after a processing session 2 years ago. That spot where I dumped it is still struggling to grow grass. That bleach totally destroyed the microbes in the soil.
