Safe dewormer?

We use Safe Guard for Goats 3cc to 1 gallon of water.

We also give shots of Ivomec Plus 1cc for Adults.

I also found this website if you are looking for the natural way to rid worms, so they say don't know anything about them. www.theholistichorse.com "Finally a way to rid your poultry of worms that is 100% natural" that is what there add says, they are out of Ashdown, AR 1-877-774-0594

Some years ago there was someone on Eggbid selling wormer feed. The bad thing was that it wasn't working and the people that bought it there Peafowl were getting worms, so I would do some research before I jumped out there and bought anything like that.
I don't think this is the same because you mix this in the feed and is not the feed itself.

Yep, that's about right for ivermectin spot treatment.

as for the individual Safe guard treatment, not sure on single doses like that, probably about the same. I always do the 3 cc per gallon of water, so 1/4 cc per bird would be about right.
Both really take a lot of an overdose to do any harm, Ivermectin is the most touchy, Safe guard is fairly harmless unless you just went way overboard with it

free_ranger, my directions say:

1 cc for bird over 1 year old as a drench down the throat for 3 days

1/2 cc for a bird between 3 months and 1 year as a drench down the throat for 3 days

What treat would you put this in/on? I did saturate pieces of bread with Tylan 50 once and the bird ate it all.

I'm using the Safeguard in water right now for 3 days to worm my young ones. They love pasta & I wonder, if you knew what individual dosage to use, you could put the Safeguard crumbles inside of macaroni or rotini pasta as long as you were sure that each bird got its' correct dose, right?

That's just another product brand name , it contains Flubendazole as it's active ingredient, same thing as Safe Guard

That's good to know. So Safegard is a good wormer. All so hard to get straight in my head. It's good to rotate wormers so using Safegard and Ivermectin, each once a year rotating is the thing to do? Ivermectin is expensive...is there something to use in it's place? This applies to adults. Should peachicks be wormed monthly once placed on the ground until they are what age? Would I use the same wormers and rotate them? Thanks in advance for answers. What would I do without you folks?

I use them both, usually Safeguard then a week - 10 day break, then Ivermectin. That way you know you got them all..Once in the spring before laying starts, again in the fall after it stops. Usually as long as birds are in the brooder and off the groung, they shouldnt need worming. I never worm til any are 6 months, not that it would harm them, they usually just dont need it til then.
