I had to clip my turkeys feathers so he would not fly over the fence. ( he had gotten away and roamed the neighborhood for a few weeks) Now he is home in our fenced yard, but he will not go into the coop at night with the chickens. Will he be safe from raccoons if he can not roost up high?

No, a raccoon could kill him at night. Why don't you lure him in with a treat, like cracked corn? They love that!

Be careful. A coon can easily take him at night when he is roosting. I lost several a few years ago to a family of coons while we were gone for the weekend. And that was WITHOUT their wings clipped. I reguarly "remove" coons from the property now.
