Duck egg question: I left town for 5 days. One duck was already broody and sitting on 9 eggs. My duck sitter didn’t collect any eggs from our other two ducks. While I was gone, they all laid in the broody girls’ nest. Came home to two ducks happily sharing one nest full of 26 eggs. I had marked the original 9 so I know which ones those were. Question is, are the other 17 safe to eat? Because they were nice and warm when I collected them. Since all 3 ladies are still laying daily, some of those 17 would have been under a mama the full 5 days, some 4 days etc. Safe to eat if kept warm that long?

It wont hurt you to physically eat them no but you will be eating an embryo if they are fertile. If they are not fertile I imagine they would make you very sick. Thats the heart beat you see in the video along with blood veins of day 5.
