Safe to get paint on their feet?

I want to paint my 3 week old chicks' feet so I can have their footprints on the walls of my coop. If I wash it off immediately would that be safe? (I would use either acrylic paint or exterior paint)

Cute idea!! I think it will be fine if your chicks have no open cuts or sores. When I was re-staining my coop my chickens kept trying to drink off the stain and there fine...I did have to move them until I finished the job though...haha.

I tested it out earlier today with finger paint and it worked great + came off super easy.
