would like to have shipment come in week of April 11 instead of April 25th.

Any fellow northerners think this could be done safely?

We can get some weird 'snaps' here in April..............

One local chicken breeder said, "Oh sure".

But want to get other thoughts (a wise man takes counsel).

24 chicks from relatively nearby Quakertown, PA. That is about the closest hatchery to me in n central mass.

thanks............

Im in NH and I get chicks BEFORE then. I got 25 in march a few years ago, all chicks alive and healthy. You will be fine.

I live in upstate NY and am sure our weather is no different, maybe a bit more severe than yours, and I have gotten chicks shipped from MacMurrry in late April with no problem although I prefer May. The reason for May is not so much shipping weather but it is easier to brood them in May since the weather is more settled and less chance of power outages. We've been known to get those thick, wet snows in April that take down power lines. Also in May they're out of the brooder and outside faster.

I live in KY and it has been really cold....until a few days ago. I got chicks mailed and all came in fine. Had a little heat pack in with them.

Live in Massachusetts and my birds arrived Feb 6. PO took good care of my chickies!
Picked them up from USPS distribution center 24 hr after hatch. turkey poults due mid April. Hope this helps.

I'm getting 25-50 chicks march 9 and I'm in WI, the reason the number is so open is these are for the 4h kids, and I'm being sent a min of 25 a max of 50
