I have a chicken Big Momma that has vent gleet, and realizing it is probably because she also has sour crop. I have isolated her and treating for that. I also have a few other chickens that have a little bit of poopy butt. But not nearly as bad as big momma. I wasnt sure if it was because of the roos? or if they have something else going on. I dont see any signs of lice/mites... and I have recently cleaned out the coop.
Is it possible they could have worms? I have wondered that in the past, but everyone acts so normal and the poopy butt is new as of recent. I wasnt sure previously if I wanted to do it as a preventative if they didnt need it.
So today I decided to deworm just in case...

My other question is, I bought safeguard 5x. and gave each chicken one today. I have read a ton of different posts about safeguard. Now that I have read, I see the dosing is different as it only has 6.7 mL of safeguard. The instructions say dose now and then in 10 days, unless the case is more severe. Should I go get the goat safeguard and dose for 2 more days, and then in 10 again?
or should I just keep doing the safeguard 5x and do the once (as the 5x bottle says) and then again in 10 days? advice appreciated :)

It is unlikely that your vent gleet is because of worms. It could happen, but it is not likely. Vent gleet happens because the PH is too acidic. ACV in the water helps with this.

I don't treat for worms unless I have proof worms exist. Can you get a float test?
