Saint Patty's Hatch!!!!

I have a broody hen due to hatch today. When I marked the calendar I did not even notice it was St. Patricks Day!!! I can't wait to get home to see if I have new Silkie chicks.

This is her first time and at times she is not covering all of her eggs.

I had 1 hatched this morning when I left for work. Hope there's more waiting for me when I get home!

I have 12 of my 17 hatched that made it to day 18. It's day 22, and I have 5 maybes still wiggling, but no peeping. I'll give them till Saturday a.m.

I am so sorry 1956. Did you end up with any chicks over the weekend? I woke up to 3 pips this morning. I hope to have more by tonight. The past few times hatching shipped eggs has been heartbreakingly disappointing. My husband and I are going to build a bator this month. I think my issues are comming from using LGs in a house that has temp swings quite a bit this time of year.

NO!!

I did candle some and there were chicks in there. I just don't know what happened. This was her first time, maybe she just did not keep them covered well enough.

I do have some in the bator due a week from Wed. So, wish me luck.
