anyone here breed saint pigeons? I used to have some but sold out when I went to college and would like to get ahold of people breeding them so I can get some of them again in the future. I prefer colored not splash or white and with muffs 2" or longer.

I knew he was out there but couldn't remember what site his birds were posted on. I actually sold my last saint to him a few years ago

I know its a long shot, but would you happen to know of a guy in Colorado who had them? he was a construction worker and was trying to get the saint breed club running again last I talked to him. But he was almost impossible to get ahold of. I got a beak crested male from him once.

No I sure dont. I had three saints myself a few years back but the c*ck was not filling the eggs. Two whites and a dun. They were a fun breed. Alot of saints have been going into improving the indian fantasy. I am afraid this will cause the breed to dissappear.

I agree I worry about them disappearing because of being bred into Indian Fantasies or constant crosses to Capuchines to bring in new colors. First quad I had was a grizzle blue bar, a tort check, a brown check, and a yellow. Then later got the beak crested ash red bar cock. was having trouble breeding them at first, then the dang norwich croppers i had killed the beak crest and some of the squabs. by the end i had 1 bird left and that one went to Shaw. Thing that worries me also is that all you usually see are whites (granted, the original color, but still) and splashes.

White is the "easy point" color. You dont have to cull for color in white birds, no such thing as a poor colored white bird. I have noticed alot of people selling capuchines that are noticably part saint. They carry their tail and wings down, have long wing and tail, softer feather and show some feathering on the feet. One of the biggest problems I have ran into when buying pigeons is getting birds that are quite what they should be.
