Sally's GF3 thread

I'm trying something new.

Last year, I tried baking slices of home made bread to toast it for stuffing, and it seemed to take a really long time. No, I didn't turn on the broiler, because I don't think it works. I think of using a broiler once or twice a year, and this is half or all of them. :gig

So I dried out the slices in the dehydrator. We'll see if that helps. They won't sizzle, anyway. They are bone dry.

This is a sad thing to do intentionally to nice loaf of home made bread. That means I need to make another loaf, huh? But not until after Thanksgiving and leftovers are gone/put in the freezer. There will be enough good things to eat for quite awhile.
I bought a dehydrator, am looking forward to experimenting with it. I never thought of doing bread, though.

Another Thanksgiving in the books. I learned something this year.

I want to like making turkey for Thanksgiving... but I ... just ... don't. So next year will be a turkey breast, and we might be having the big meal on Friday. The Lions play every Thanksgiving, and the game timing versus the meal timing is just not working.

It all worked out ok... but it was very stressful, and I don't need that kind of stress. Plus, neither of us really like the dark meat, so what's the point of doing a full turkey? A breast will be plenty for us.

I think we'll have ham for Christmas dinner. Or pot roast.

Much rather enjoy Thanksgiving dinner than watch Foooooosball
Me too.

But this year is different... the Lions are in first place. This is uncharted territory. They have been the butt of jokes for decades, even had the only 0-16 record ever in the NFL one year. For them to be serious Superbowl contenders -- favorites, even! -- is beyond imagination. Detroit, and all of Michigan, need something really great to cheer about. I'm ok with it being football.

A year ago today, hubby and I started our exercise program. I have not missed a single day on the elliptical. 366 days (because it's a leap year) and I started on year number 2 today.

I can't break the string now! :) It would be a year before I could say I'd done an entire year, and at that point, I'd be kicking myself, because I'd be able to say two years.

Good job. I know what you mean about breaking the string. I think that's what has kept me off cigarettes for so long.

This is for any NFL fans out there.

When Chuck Norris goes to bed, he looks under his bed for Dan Campbell.

In 2008, the Lions were 0-16. They have been the butt of a lot of jokes, taken a lot of crap.

I'm not much of a football fan, but I'm rooting for them 1000%. Hubby is from Pittsburgh. Steelers are his team. It's not at all likely, but it could happen that the Lions could play the Steelers in the SuperBowl. I asked him who he'd root for, and he said the Lions.
:yesss:
If they go to the Big Game, I will get a Lion's Jersey. And wear it.
