Is Giardiniera available in your area???
I'm in Chitown,,, and It is readily available here. It goes hand in hand with Italian Beef. I Know that Italian Beef is a regional thing.
When DD#3 was living in Nashville, Italian beef was nowhere to be found. She always took a quantity with her back home every time she visited us.

Thanks for the suggestion. I can't eat peppers, but the olives should work well.

I looked back through my egg log. One of my four year old Black Australorps, Little, started laying on February 18th. Her last egg was June 19th. I can tell her eggs, as they are distinctive in that they are usually 50-53 grams. 50 grams is the bottom of the "medium" size. Little's eggs are the littlest of any of my birds.

I named her Little because she was the smallest of the chicks. I didn't know the name would have ramifications. :hmm

She is probably "on hiatus" until next February, or whenever she might start up again, as she is molting now. I saw pin feathers on her neck. At 4, she is long past her most productive days.

She still is a very pretty bird.

A rather disappointing day.

We looked in the bee hives, thinking that we'd have at least a few frames of honey. Nope. Zilch. We're not sure what is going on, if we're doing something wrong, or if the hives are in trouble.

I'm going to call my Bee Guy tomorrow and ask him for his opinion. Maybe he can come over and look into the hives with us and tell us what is happening. He's had over 60 years' experience with bees.

I'm trying an experiment. Hubby made his homemade bread with the organic flour. I ate one bite. We'll see what happens.

I marked it on the calendar. I think sometimes my reaction takes a day or two to show itself.
:fl Hope it works out to where you can start eating all you want of it. With lots of home made butter.:)
