Sally's GF3 thread

If you have a food processor, that's all you need. Use the blade that's shaped like an "s." Dump in the peanuts -- or other nuts -- put on the cover, and turn it on. Mine takes about 5 minutes or so for a pound of peanuts. I use Planters dry roasted, unsalted.

If you want to add spices, cinnamon is AWESOME! Unless you don't like cinnamon, of course. If you want to put in cloves, use just a little, like a 1/4 teaspoon. Add spices before you start so that they're mixed in well.

If you want to add honey, that changes everything. What takes 5 minutes now will take about 35. Really.

That is puzzling to me. What If you made the 5 minute batch,,, and then added a quantity of honey to that slowly.
I've done this. The honey will make the butter seize up, and it'll take 20-30 minutes to return to peanut butter.

I've heard that if you put peanut butter on hot toast and the butter is melting and running over the edge, putting honey on it will stop the mess. Never done that, but I can believe it after my experience with making PB.

Another magical power of honey! :th:lau
