Sally's GF3 thread

I am never going to read another book that is compared to the book, Gone Girl. I read that book and didn't give crap about what happened to either of the main characters.

So the one I just finished is The Other Husband. I read a bit, thought it sounded interesting, and the writing was ok. Yes, it was compared to Gone Girl.

And I didn't give a crap about either of the main characters in this book either. Or the secondary characters. Or the tertiary characters.

It should have had a dog. I could have liked the dog.

I try to plant the seeds for my tomato starts in the green house by around April 1. It was way too cold then. The green house is only passive solar heat, so highs of 38° and lows of 24° with no sunshine is not going to sprout seeds.

I got 48 pots planted yesterday! Yay! This is what I planted:

12 Homestead (purchased seed)
12 Ace 55 (my saved seed)
24 of Hungarian Heart/Italian Heirloom (my saved seed)

Homestead is my "new" heirloom variety to try this year. We'll see how it does.

Ace 55 was a hybrid, but has stabilized and runs true. It's done well for me.

Hungarian Heart/Italian Heirloom are two heirloom varieties that I have saved seed from for a few years. The seeds were from both, and I couldn't tell which was which when I picked tomatoes for seed. Both did well, so I don't care what grows.

Sally,,,, we here in Chitown are on a real roller coaster.
Last night it was 32°F ,,, had to take my flowers indoors, to prevent frost kill.
This is just a few minutes ago. 71°F ❤️

It was 56° when I got up at 5:45. It's dropped to 54° at 7:30. I don't think it'll drop much more. Good for the green house pots!

We're still cleaning the house in preparation for company over on Saturday. We're down to the stuff that will stay clean for a few days. :lau

Tomorrow is the stuff that needs to be spruced up and a last sweep/dusting. I also have to go to the store to get ingredients for the meal. The plan is they'll be here about 11 am Saturday.
