I have 6 other chicks (RIR, Silkie, Sussex, BR, White Leghorn, Australorp), I bought from my local feed store last week and I just picked up another chick, this time a Salmon Faverolle. I have 1 from each breed. The lady at the store suggested I buy 2, but since I'm new at this, I wanted to try raising a single chick from many different breeds. So far, they all are doing great, but my son has pointed out that since picking up the single Samon Faverolle about 3 days ago, it is very loud and chirps constantly!

Is this normal or do I was the lady right and I need to find another of the same breed for it?

I have 2 salmon faverolles, and neither has been noticeably louder than the other chicks. Is your salmon younger than the others? Could be she's intimidated or possibly not warm enough?

I think you guessed it - she was probably just a bit cold this whole time. I put a smaller bulb in the heat lamp which was fine for the others, but I think it wasn't quite enough for her. I just got a better heat source today and she's much quieter now.
