We are ordering our first chickens this week and would really like to get a Faverolle. We are already ordering an Easter Egger, Black Austrolorp and a Golden laced Wyandotte. I have heard that the Faverolle can get picked on in a mixed flock but don't know anyone with firsthand experience of this. What do you think of this combination?
Thanks Cindy

I have never had faverolles, but my overall experience is that when you raise birds that do not look like each other together they accept differences in appearance with no problem, and when you raise them segregated (all one breed and colour) they do have tendencies to not get along with other breeds/varieties that look significantly different.

We are like noah, two of each. I just got favorelles and put them in with my flock without problem. I have mutiple breeds and there is not fighting amongst breeds, other than normal pecking order stuff. I would go and get them, and since they are chicks and growing up together you should be fine.

I'd get yourself a cochin as well- they are similar in the ranks.

If it is one breed of each, the Faverolle will be fine. My bantam Faverolle I had, she held her own without a problem among the big cousins. As long they were chicks and raised together, not a problem. If they are older, one of each would be ok too!

Thanks everyone! I am off to order my girls. I am so excited and I am sure you will be hearing more of me when they get here. Lots of questions.
