Nervous about this chick, because we just learned they will not allow roos in our area! We thought we got lucky because the brown on the wing came in first, but now she's starting to get dark... she also has very long wings and we read that was a pullet trait. I know Salmons have been coming out darker, or oddly colored... we got ours from tractor supply in TN.

This chick is 3 1/2 weeks old in these photos.

Ideas?

Probably a bit too early to tell. Hatchery faverolles can be so off colored that it is best to wait until more of the chest feathers are in. Also keep an eye on that comb.
Thank you! Will do, we've seen some crazy pictures of dark pullets, lately. We will check back in a week or so!! And thank you for the pointers!

my hatchery faverolles was very light brown until she was 10-12 ish weeks old and she got a little bit darker. I have never seen a young faverolles that was THAT dark and didn't turn out a cockerel
I have. Not saying the OP’s bird is female. But there have been quite a few strange looking pullets documented on this site.

I would still recommend that you start planning now about what to do with a male. Figure out what your options for rehoming or selling just in case. But I personally don’t give up hope until the chest feathers come in. If those are all black, and the comb suddenly pops, then you know what to do.
