That is the way mine with botulisim was acting wings and neck start it then progresses to legs then lungs and other organs this is when they start violently thrashing i think botulisim

My 8 week old salmon faverolle is doing the same thing! She is on her side and I have to feed her and give her water - she can not get up.

How does a chicken contract botulism?

That's what I was wondering! I've had these things happen from time to time. About half the time they recover and are just fine. Other times it just goes from bad to worse. I always figured it was a mareks thing.

Oh - I just looked at Damerow and she says transient paralysis caused by Mareks can be mistaken for botulism. The other thing that caught my eye was algae poisoning from contaminated drinking water.

Also can get boutilism from moldy feed.
