Salmon Favorelle--Egg color and Frequency

I totally agree with the first two replies, they are spot on, and I LOVE my Salomon, she is so funny sweet and loveable.

My Sammy is not loveable at all. But she is gorgeous. That is the egg she lays.

They lay a cream colored brown. Quite large, too. Mine are very presistant. My one, Charlotte will lay very few due to being boody a ton of times.

Agnes will lay and egg every other day, and Trixie every day. That is so far my experience. Best wishes and welcome to the forum! :)

So far my girls lay almost every day (except for the month off one took by going broody). Their eggs have ranged from almost light pink to tan to brown.

When your hens are broody, doesn't picking up their eggs daily cause them to continue laying at their normal pace?

Not my weirdo. She'd stay in the nesting box ALL DAY for days on end, with zero eggs in there. She seemed to completely stop laying while she was going through that phase. I mean, I don't watch them round the clock but from what I could tell was happening, she was spending days and days in an empty nesting box, but I was gathering eggs from another box (or the ground!) that I assumed came from the other girls. I never got more than 1 small egg a day, and my 2 Favs lay the small eggs and my 2 Orps lay big eggs.
