Salmonella?! What do I do now????

Ah it's cool. I oversimplified a little bit so I could see the confusion! I actually didn't know that the disease wasn't named the same as the bacteria for most of my childhood.

And I'll be honest. Of the many times I've had salmonella, only one was worth going to the doctor over.
I went once only because my work required a doctor's note. Otherwise, I'd have just assumed it was a virus. But it's super scary when it's littles or the elderly... I'd take them to the dr for sure.

Well, there are studies done from before this though... and the US averages 1.1 million cases of salmonella a year anyway. So I really don't understand why they're freaking out so much lol. Sounds like a good year!
There are still that many, but only 279 have been attributed to backyard poultry. Mostly, the culprit is food.

And what people also need to realize is that they can infect themselves with E. Coli by not washing their hands after using the restroom brcause we all carry that! Germs are everywhere. It's not a sterile world.
