Salmonella

So, apparently there has been 9 cases of Salmonella sickness due to having backyard chickens here in CT. Aside from making sure you wash your hands after handling your chickens or their eggs (duh!), any other advice to avoid this situation? Thanks

Wash hands, don't kiss them, keep their area clean.
