Hey-
New here but not to birdkeeping. Have kept all types of birds since a pre-teen and am now an old man according to my kids! I have been president of the local caged bird club, was a zookeeper for 7 years and have managed pet stores while working through college. Recently I have been focusing on my flock of Serama chickens and my wife has a few silkies and 2 Tractor Supply ducklings (never send your wife for feed during chick days!).
I’ve incubated and raised many types of birds including exotics and endangered species. In my younger days I handfed chicks of parrots, hawks and falcons, penguins, vultures, cranes and pigeons. Right now I am on my 2nd generation of Serama trying to improve their showability for tabletop exhibition. I am having my birds PIP registered and will begin selling Serama hatching eggs, pet quality birds and show ready birds that don’t fit my breeding program. My favorite Serama types/colors are echecker, frills and silkies. I am always willing to help local 4H kids get started with hatching eggs and have a loaner incubator they can use to hatch a few birds.
