. Good to have you and Jake with us.

Hi Anke!
I Ditto that! Nice people. they came up yesterday to return Buffer, they canged his name to "Thumper"!
We should have some of Buffer's chicks soon!

I will bring Sterilite container with me next meet-up,
(Heck, it'll probably be full of bags of coffee knowing you!)
Baby chicks still enjoying mealworms, I am doling out a parsimonious portion each day.
These guys would eat the entire tub in a sitting!

Well I would love to join the fun (and coffee) but I have babies due to pip and pop on that day and you know about the cost of gas right ? Maybe next time. Sure wish we could organize a meet up here but there seems to be a lack of enthusiasm that yous have down there.

Hey all! Does anyone have any fertile quail eggs for sale? My brooder is about to be moved into the pen and it's time to start another hatch. Thanks!

Here's some chick pics of my scruffy indoor crew...

This little blue/gray one is my favorite, and I am so hoping it's a pullet. SO friendly, and spends a lot of time perched on top of the feeder.

Here's the rest of them; they are a little less outgoing. Three were black and two were gray/blue, but one is the grays has darkened up quite a bit. Anybody see anything that says pullet or cockeral yet? They're about 4 weeks old now.

It's kind of interesting that the outdoor chicks being raised with the broody have much better feather coverage than these guys. I'll try to get some pictures of them tomorrow - they are all over the place with momma!

Who has been eaten out of 2000 mealworms once again!

(especially knowing that I actually gave you 2,500 worms). Will get you some more soon....

Was it really 2,500? I don't think I have chickens... I have little PIGGIES!

I forgot to mention before that I found a nice clutch of 12-14 eggs in my garage this morning. My Speckled Sussex has been hanging out in there, but I thought she was hunting bugs. Nope! She had a nice sticky pile of eggs on a big lawn-sized garbage bag underneath my hubby's workbench. Several were broken/eaten, so I chucked them all. Goofy girl! I will be keeping the garage doors shut from now on...
