San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Hi Lynn, I'm new too. Your chickens are the prettiest I've ever seen - wow! I'll have try dinner at the Linkery some time, sounds yummy. I'm looking forward to meeting you and all the other "chicken people" in our area

Hi Lynne and Enzo!!!

Of course you guys are welcome to come! All are welcome! Our last one was a big success and I think we had roughly 15 people attend, it was wonderful!

Lynne- I would love to talk to you more about your restaurant supplying deal, that's what we are trying to get into (very early stages) and would love to hear from someone with more experience!

We are thinking of meeting in the latter half of January, on a Saturday again... Does that work for everyone?

Also, I think I have one BLUE Blue Laced Red Bantam Cockerel, and one SPLASH Blue Laced Red Bantam Cockerel available for sale, I will know for sure the sexes by the time the meet-up comes around. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I'd be happy to share our experiences with the restaurant. We are very fortunate as they "found" us~!!! I had a CSA, but after a year and a half of "trying" to make everyone happy with their delivery every week, it was a refreshing change of pace to have only "one customer" with which to deal

The Linkery "only" buys from local farmers & ranchers. Nothing is purchased commercially. Their food is fabulous~!

I'd love to hear more about your leg bands. Gosh am I in need of help in keeping all my breedings separate. It's hard enough when I incubate to catch each little chick as it hatches so I know which egg it came out of.

Late January works for me at this point. Keep me in the loop

Late Jan. on a Sat. works for me. How about egg races, boiled egg eating contest, best egg dish . . . I'll have to think of some more.

The feed stores that buy my feeds from were out of the grower feed. So I got some Ace Hi Quick-Gro (23% protein) at another feed store and it even cost less. The Naturewise feed that I had were only 16% so I think the new feed would be better and they may even eat less, we'll see.

Anyone here tried this feed before?
