So sorry you won't be able to come!! It's so hard to accommodate everyone. I didn't pick the weekend before because it's "Chick Days" and so many people go to that. Hopefully the next one will work for you.

dedicateddourly, that's a nice story. Seems that chickens need very little to be happy. I think it's why I enjoy them so much.

Would anyone be interested in starter chicks or eggs for hatching for swap or purchase at the meet on February 25 ?

The pictures are from the summer and certainly not as Special as Sunny's.

I am not quite sure that I understand what you are asking. They are all Ameraucanas with recessive white genes. If you want further information contact Tricia Olvera AKA Noseychickens. She lives abot 45 minutes from me in North Edwards and won the parents at a show in Ventura Ca

She also has bantam whites and several other Ameraucanas plus Polish Bantams, runner ducks, goats, turkeys. ?????????

So the white Ameracauna is named "Smoky"? I took me a minute to realize he was a he, and not a she!! He's so pretty!

I can't expand my laying flock right now, otherwise I'd be all over those eggs!! I love those white Ameracaunas.

How's the kitty doing? Her sisters finally found homes just before Xmas. We're keeping mama, and getting her spayed next week. She is turning out to be a very nice cat, quite personable, and not a cave dweller like some other cats I know.

Kitty is still a little "Love-Bug" and very smart but I wish that she did not need to mark my bed. I am very tired of washing quilts, blanket and sheets more that they usually need.
Smoky and his girls were just six months old in those pictures so the pics are not truly representative of what they look like now. But they are very dirty from living in dusty sandy soil that they douse themselves in often. I didn't name the rooster, he came with his name and I'm not very creative with white. In fact, since I had to wear white uniforms all my working years, I do not even like it now no matter how well it wears in hot california weather. Anyway they are very nice birds very soft and fluffy and lay nice eggs. They were very used to being held when I got them but now that they are more mature they are a little different but still calm and friendly. I think that I will try bring eggs and chicks.

Oh sorry, I didn't realize "Smoky" was a white Ameraucana as well. It was confusing because you didn't say what breed he was and in the picture it was hard to tell he was a boy!

I'm definitely interested in some eggs, would you like to trade for something?

Cari I would be interested in swapping if you have something that I am interested in having. Not birds though because i have plenty of those. Plants ? Jams ?
