According to who?Shall we ask Dave?![]()
I'm done for now....I just introduced the frizzle and new NN to the pen. It went very well! Whew!
I put Mitzi the Spitzi in the big coop and she's holding her own. I did have to remove one of the cockerels. Just too many hormones raging in that coop right nowFortunately for her, the top boy has taken a liking to her and seems to be protecting her.![]()
After these NN's from Nava grow out I'm taking a break from chicks for a while. I've got one (or two) more spots in Ems pen and I hope to add at least one lavender pullet to the flock.
Isn't Hawthorne's the store that is having chick days? I'm NOT going 'cause I know I will come home with something and I really, really don't need anything right now. What will YOU be coming home with?. . . oh yeah, now I remember!. . . . on the other hand, geese!!!
Speaking of husbands...Dave would kill me!![]()

Renee those three I got from you are doing quite well in their own pen. I let the little girl pick which pen she wanted to be in she wanted in with the two Guineas I have separated from my mob. She immediately went in and snuggled with them. They looked at her like who in the H*** are you. They are sweet guineas and were getting picked on in the Mob. So I wound up putting the two roos in too because I figured they knew about Guineas as well.
I have been going up every day since and the little hen sits with the Barred rock while the Big roo does guard duty.... too cute. Hes decided to keep an eye on those guineas. They get their own this weekend so everyone will have species specific housing.... LOL. I have a 24 foot long enclosure planned. half will be for the Wellies and the other half will be for two six by six spaces.
Then the rest of the coop will have to wait till I can get some help dismantling a wall.

Buff Brahmas, steve wants buff brahmas and hawthorn has them.
Not a single one hatched from the shipped dozen.one was peeping but never pipped.
Guess there are reasons beyond my understanding why that would happen.
The seller did say she would send some more for the cost of shipping though.
thought that was nice of her to do.
