Humpty Dumpty!

That's an awesome story.

I bought silkie eggs from Cat-dance and they were wrapped really well, while i was taking one out of the bubble wrap it slipped

and hit the counter just right to get a couple of hairline crack.

I used Crazy glue on the egg and still put it in the hatchery. When I candled the eggs, the cracked egg was fertile and growing right along with a few of the others

. It should hatch

next Thursday.

Crazy glue is amazing stuff. I learned about it here i think last year. Thank goodness for all the

wisdom posted on BYC. I love the name humpty dumpty, i need a good name like that for my cracked egg when it hatches....

we use a modified crazy glue in hospitals instead of sutures for skin. magic stuff

My work medicine cabinet has a single use type for closing wounds. Its not New skin it called something else, but i can't remember what. It feels just like crazy glue on your skin. I bet it would have worked just as well on that egg. The egg had 5 cracks and i had to let the glue dry pointy egg side up. I was really surprised to see any growth in the yolk.

Wasnt Crazy Glue invented for the medical industry just for repairing bones and fastening up skin? Um yes and no I did some digging....

Wow it was invented in 1942 set aside because it didnt do what they wanted.... six years later tried something else and the legond was born....

the one we use in hospitals is dermabond.its about 25 bucks a single use vial but great stuff

super glue will work just as well but it stings like crazy on a cut.

best for things like split chins, heads, clean gashes. not for abrasions. i use it on skin closures for pacemakers

hilflowerranch is an ER nurse. she prob uses a lot more.

I have a buff barred bantam cochin hatched today his name its Humpty Dumpty because 3 days ago i dropped the egg when candling and it hit the chair and the carpet. The shell was basically shattered and pieces were missing but i put white glue on as much of it as i could with out moving it around too much and stuck it in the Hatcher, when i looked in there today there was this tiny chick sitting on top of its shell

i can't believe it made it . Cute as heck and very lively

Welcome to the world lil Humpty Dumpty!!!! Great job on the glue mama! Once I used candle wax to fix a crack.
