Okie dokie - I have been absent for a few days, but I think I have PMed everyone who wanted my address for the meet-up. If you requested it and I did not PM you, please don't take it personally. I am a natural blonde and sometimes - well you know how it goes. Anyway, send me a PM and I will get the address out to you likkety-split.

To recap the event:

Date - Feb 9, 2013

Time - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm more or less. If we are having a great time it may go on later.

What to bring: a dish to share, kids, friends, hatching eggs, raffle prizes, healthy chickens, chairs, and transport equipment for any new members you may be adding to your family. I think a few people will also be bringing some fun homemade stuff they are selling - jams, honey, home grown produce, etc. That is awesome too. The more the merrier.

What not to bring: sick chickens - this is my home and the home of my flock, please don't risk their health!

We will be having a raffle, a potluck, and trading chickens and chicken stories.


I can't wait to see you all! I am looking forward to the first SD meetup of 2013!

I am getting hold of 12 Giant Cochin (Blue, Black and Splash) and 12 Cuckoo Marans hatching eggs this weekend. I have to build a bator in between moving but what the heck, I like a challenge - and who needs sleep

Yaay I'm gonna need more therapy chickenz. My stepmom passed away this morning from the cancer that was just found last Wednesday. I'm not sure if I'll be in the country for the meetup. Her entire family is in Mexico and my dad has decided we will bury her in her homeland. I will know our travel dates soon but not online much so please forgive my slow replies. Life happens and we just have to take it one breath at a time.

Her entire family is in Mexico and my dad has decided we will bury her in her homeland. I will know our travel dates soon but not online much so please forgive my slow replies. Life happens and we just have to take it one breath at a time.

I am sorry for your loss OGM. I am sure you are devastated. I see life and death every day and in many ways it is a blessing to have such a rapid demise with cancer. The emotion, physical and financial stress of a slow death is horrendous for both the patient and the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your dad.
