Sue - hatching is a VERY slippery slope and very addictive. So happy to see the lavender birds are looking so good!

These are pure ameraucana (project of course) NOT EEs, and I can take no credit for them. They are being bred by DAK who really knows what she is doing and is turning out some amazing birds.

The one with the slow developing tail is likely due to the slow feathering gene which she has now removed from her breeder pool because people do not like that it takes so long for all the feathers to grow in. I believe that once they are in they are meant to look better than the fast featherers

Anywho, the current eggs came from someone else and I have not seen how they turn out, but the parent gene pool was similar.

Miriam, Thanks - I really like the round rump look on this particular little bird, but I'll keep an eye out for sprouting tail feathers. One more pic for you...this is Alfred, the Splash silkie I got from you last February. I don't think he's very effective as a rooster, but he puts on a good show and sure is pretty.

I have missed you all. Somehow life has gotten complicated..chickens have multiplied, the adopted puppy
became TWO!! We do the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach this time of year, (let me know if anyone wants
