Where did you get the breeding pair from?how come i didnt see them at your place the other day?
I have an order for them at hollerread poultry farm.

Get this i also ordered a runner duck with them.
I was out close to the gate the other day chicken /guinea watching and a couple walks by with a red queensland they where chuckling at the guineas.I was interested in their dog.
so i said hi and we started talking at the gate.
Come to find out they live around the corner and breed blue runners.holly cow guess what i canceled from the order.
and they where the brother of the farmer behind us.

Yes, Hawthorne Feed Store in Escondido has their big Chick Days event this coming weekend, I think they are advertising over 1000 chicks, so there should be a lot to choose from. 15 N, exit Valley Parkway, go east about 3/4 mile, you'll see the feed store on the right hand side.

I don't raise layers, but if you ever want a banty chicken to be your best friend, or your house rooster, let me know. I breed Seramas. They are 10 pounds of personality, in a 1 lb body.

Renee that's so cool!!! When I get a bigger house, I WILL have ducks. They are extremely hard to resist right now.

I have built a coop on the little to no spare time i have. we are looking for chicks (i also made an improvised brooder out of a tupperware box) we even have food and waterers but no chicks yet. i will definetly keep looking!! Chick days looks promising, have any of you been to that event?

BTW those are some terribly cute looking puppies! i have a 2 month old Border Collie names Clair, is that a good time to introduce her to chickens?!

Its a very good time to introduce chicks to the puppy. Puppy on one side of baby fence chicks on the other..... Border Collies have a strong urge to herd things so watch out that she/he doesn't get too enthusiastic at first. Herding is waayyy different than chasing. They use Ducks to train them for herding. Chicks or chickens arent as easy to herd. But definately you want to desensitize and Never allow them together without supervision till you know your dog is mature enough to not harrass the chickens.

I don't have a breeding pair...I am placing an order with Ideal, and they sell (sexed) black east indies as well as lots of other ducks. I couldn't remember if it was you who said they wanted some, so I made sure to mention it here. If you want check out ideal and see if you want me to order you some.

I have blue black and splash purebred ameracuana chicks right now.
They are up on san diego craigslist or you can reach me through this thread. The parents are below.
They lay beautiful large green/blue eggs.

Double S feed store in El Cajon says they will have chick shipments every week for a while too. When i go there to see the fuzz butts, i just want to sit there and have them crawl all over me (that is if they were magic chickens that didn't poop!)
