Hello, San Diego!
Do you still have room for a few more in the barn? I finished my homework (payroll), so I can come to the meet up, if that's still okay. I'm pretty new to chicken keeping, but I would love to meet all the "posters" who have contributed to my chicken ed over the last few months. My friend and a few family members are excited about the idea of going, too.
I haven't posted on the regular San Diego thread much yet, but Cari was kind enough to do a quick tour of her farm and "how poultry can be cared for properly and efficiently without costing $157 per egg." Quick because I got lost and it took me an extra hour to get to Jamul, and had to find my way out before dark and all hope was lost. So unusual for me, too (ha).
If it's okay to show up, we'll be there. My understanding of the things we'll need to bring or do:
--Food for lunch
--Money for raffle
--Money for "sale" items
--Bags for all the stuff I'll buy
--Dorkiest chicken hat I can come up with
--Stop at feed store for incubator to house irresistible hatchers to take home
--Stop at my sister's house, to explain why they now have 42 baby chicks on a back porch in O.B.
--Stop at Home Depot for more lumber, to house new irresistible chickens to bring home
--Stop at attorney's office, to file paperwork, for the divorce that will ensue from all the irresistible chicken stuff I'll bring home
About right?

P.S. I'd also like to get in on the Modesto order if possible, but I'll find that post (I think. Again, I say "ha") and go from there.
