San Jose, CA "Carl the Rooster" needs a home!

Hello, I live in downtown San Jose. There is a small white rooster that has been roaming the streets for two weeks in our neighborhood. The neighbors have been exchanging photos and comments on nextdoor looking for his home and we have put up posters around the neighborhood and asked around. No one seems to know who owns this rooster and no one seems to want it. I think it may even be illegal to have a crowing rooster in the city. In any case, I am making an effort to find a home for him (we named him Carl). I will capture him and drive him to someone's place if it is within a reasonable distance from downtown San Jose. I'm just worried that he's going to get hit by a car, or eaten by a cat or die from starvation, or whatever else could happen to a little rooster on his own. I have a photo. He was in our neighbors chicken yard a few days ago, but they shooed him out. They sent me a picture. I just tried to post it here, but couldn't. I can send it to you. You can reach me at 408 910-9187 cell/text.

Thanks! Unfortunately I'm not really part of the family. I don't have any chickens, although it would be fun...there is a homeless rooster in our neighborhood and I'm trying to find it a home. :)

That would be awesome. Can you ask tonight or tomorrow? You can give them my number: 408 910-9187. We are down to not being able to keep him longer than a day or two more.

If you still haven't found a home for the rooster, I think there's a chicken sanctuary in San Luis Obispo that might be able to take him.
