I just went and got some sand for the chicks they are 4-5 weeks they ran out of play sand so they have me another type it's a bit more course has a few small chips of rocks and can be mixed with something to make concrete. They seem to be doing fine I will post the brand name when I go check on them. Anybody use this kind of sand?

This sand is good in chicken coops because it provides a lot of ventilation.

Actually, you have ended up better this way. Play sand is not good for chickens but the courser sand is perfect. Plus, if they eat some, it just gives them a little bit of grit which is necessary if you plan to give them any treats. Good luck with your chicks.
