Hi all, done some researching and decided to use sand as flooring for two of my rooster's room. One is a phoenix and the other is a bantam/game fowl. They get really nice tail feathers and I don't like dust, dirt, and droppings on their tail feathers. The sand helps a lot with that and I just use a scooper for cat litter which makes maintaining the rooms easy. But the sand I used were arena sand. From what I found online it said just not to use beach sand or similar small sizes. But now with the arena sand, I had people come look at my coop and say that arena sand might be too tough on their feet and affect it in the long run. So now I have been moving them back and forth to a room with dirt and the sand room. So my question is, will the arena sand damage my rooster's feet in the long run because judges can be very picky and especially people who want to inspect the rooster before buying its chicks.
