Sand from outside.....

I'm wondering if its ok to put sand from outside my house in my brooder. Right now they are on shavings and paper towels.....but I keep seeing people post about using sand and it sounds like a great idea. We have SUPER sandy soil here, and I'm wondering if I could use that....??

I got mine from the creek!

ETA: I would not use it though if cats and dogs had used it to potty in.

Good point. What about horses?!

I am not sure. I just remembered why I had to go to the creek and not in my yard. I got lots of cats and they like sand! If you can use horse manure as fertilizer it must not be as dangerous?.....
