I'm proposing an idea.

Some really are not looking for birds whose last 30 or more generations of selection were in, essentially, a factory such as any of the major hatcheries. They want birds bred by people raising them outdoors, perhaps free range, even better in a lineage probably going back to farm birds or individuals raising and breeding for meat, eggs, or both.

Sand Hill may not always have that but it's a closer source for sure than is getting your birds from Tractor Supply, etc.

There are many who have birds from Sand Hill, and surely many who have true heritage (not just grabbing a heritage name like a hatchery "Blue Andalusian" for example) birds, but it's hard to find each other.

Some may have birds or eggs they would be happy to sell or trade, or could point to an excellent but Internet-unfindable small breeder.

For example, I've "had" to cull an absolutely beautiful White Leghorn rooster that could have been exactly what someone nearby might need, and soon will with some Black Leghorns.

Perhaps people keeping and breeding such birds could, informally, have a "club" here where we share info and perhaps point to trades or sales in the appropriate forum.

Cock-eyed idea??

There is nothing here to delete. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, provided they remain within the rules of this forum. (See at the bottom of every page if interested.)

You are free to start a thread here in this forum or any other forum you may find more suitable, but perhaps you just did.

We've also got the Buy/Sell/Trade forum that might be another idea.

There is also a thread for every state and most countries here:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/find-your-states-or-your-countrys-thread.270925/ You could post in yours and see if there are others with similar poultry/goals.

Good luck!

why is it wrong website?
Because plainly zero interest both in the general thing I was talking about, and the specific proposal.

Not only from this thread but others on actually-heritage (not "heritage" Blue Andalusians, etc, from Tractor Supply).

Not at all objecting to others' interests, simply observing that the interest I wrote about above is not what this website is about. I erred.

The way you conveyed it was confusing.
It read a bit like a specific club for those who order from Sandhill. My first impression was it was meant as an advertisement. As I read further I realized that was not quite the case (probably?) but many others may have stopped reading before then.
Most people would find ordering from a specific source too limiting to join a group.

There are many members on this forum who keep heritage lines of poultry. Including members who originally shared stock with Sandhill, like Dheltzel and at least one other. Many people with heritage poultry have sourced them from private breeders associated with breed clubs.
So to successfully start a club like this you would need to present a more open door and make clear that it's open to all keepers of heritage poultry.
