Hi there I think I joined long before I actually got my chickens . But just enjoyed reading everyone’s feeds. I could not join in until got my own little feathered pets. I am completely loving having them in our yard. But winter will be harder on me then on them. I’ve done my research on insulation etc and I know they will be more than comfortable. But I will worry just the same. Nice to meet you!![]()
I noticed you have been a member for a little while but this is your first post. Good luck and have fun...

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome!Hi everyone!!!!
I have just built and painted my first backyard chicken coop this summer! In April we got 4 day old chicks and now they are around 20 weeks I lost count the exact age. It’s been so much fun! I use sand only in my coop and run and I have zero smell and zero flies in or around my yard and coop. I scoop the poop every day. My coop is insulated and well vented. I’m so looking forward to talking with others chicken parents lol
Thank you so much. It’s a labour of love I wanted my chickens to think it was summer all winter long lol
Beautiful coop, love your painting!
