Sand or Wood Shavings in brooder

A lot of great responses. However I am still not convinced one way or the other, and ya'll have thrown pellets into the mix. I will have to say I think the pellets are a beak ahead of the rest.

By the way how deep should each be?

neither I use Kaytee bedding that's in lil balls with natural lavander flowers and suchin it BOOY do i love it smells great and absorbs wonderfully

Oh the kaytee paper bedding? It's the cheap version of carefresh. I used it a few times with guinea pigs. Not quite as absorbent as shavings and nowhere close to pellets but it is safer.
