Sand versus Dry Bedding

Any thoughts on using sand in your chicken coop instead of dry Bedding. pros and cons any thoughts??

Hm.. never thought to use sand. I have a lenolium flooring in my coop for easy cleaning (because it's wood) and we put shavings in it. Sand I would assume would be a lot harder to empty out and get rid of. You can't exactly compost sand :/
Shavings would most likely be warmer and easier to soak up moisture, whereas sand would just stay wet.
Sand would be great for outside though! They love their dustbaths.
