I tried the sand in my outside run. It is awesome! For years i have fought with the aggrevation n mess of mud. No more mud clumps on feet. And maintenace is a snap! I use a leaf rake to rake the run every day. Feces clump in the sand and can bE scooped up. And my hens love it!! Inside i use shredded paper. All that jjnk mail n svhool papers i shred. I use it inside the coop in nedting boxes n on floor. It has no odor like wood chips n straw. And i only empty it once a year in spring. It wotks great in the compost pile and then goes into the garden for fertilizing. Thanks for the sand suggestion. My chickens are happy. My maintenance is a snap. My ducks like it too

Great, how long have you had the sand down?
What run bedding did you use before?
Some pics would be great!
