Sandhill cranes and crows

If its not racoons trying to eat my chickens.

Now my garden is eing eaten by crows and sandhill cranes! Just chased them out, and ideas on how to protect them, that is inexensive?

I've heard some people hang shiny tape or string across the top with CDs or shiny aluminum pie plates that reflect light and are supposed to scare them away.
