I have three chocolate English Orpington hens. Two of them lay lovely, brown eggs the other one lays eggs that are very light brown, almost white, and the shells feel like sandpaper. She also frequently has little dark spots inside her eggs.
Wondering what’s going on

a glitch, it will probably go away, may come back again, it just sometimes happens.
I feel bad for her because they probably hurt coming out and she has been doing it for a few months . I had hoped it would’ve just gone away by now. Maybe I’ll give her a little poultry cell vitamins I don’t know if it’ll help but it can’t hurt I guess

Sounds very similar to one of my Easter Eggers. The egg shell is thinner than the other chicken eggs and rough like sandpaper. I researched and it might be that she is not getting enough calcium even though I have seen her eating oyster shells and I provide crushed eggshells or she is not processing calcium correctly. She gets a varied diet of her feed, greens, protein, and kitchen scraps that is found in compost pile. Chickens are free ranged. The inside of the egg looks just the same as the others.
