In the announcements forum Nifty posted a link to a news article regarding a CO town that allows chickens, and how it's a growing trend. So I emailed it to Sanford city council!

I cannot thank you all enough for your efforts.
As of now.
I have contacted many, many media. I have not yet contacted radio.
WRAL said they are getting a lot of hits and are putting up a brief update. Let's keep hitting them and leaving feedback.
I have made CLUCKs (citizens for the legalization of urban chicken loops) with a few word and my email.
please, when you send letters to councilman copy the mayor and the newspaper.
That's my brief update.

In the CO article in announcements has comments at the end. The last commenter said that chickens smell bad.

We need to convince Sanford city council that chickens and coops don't smell if you keep it clean, dry and limit the amount of hens. Say, less than 20.

Maybe they can have a "trial run" period for her and others in Sanford. If there is no report of nuisance....noise, smell, etc. then she'll be able to keep them.
