Plans are in progress to build a much larger coop in an existing small barn. Issue is, last owner left small pens piled with feces (dog&cat) uncleaned. Next year it will be cleaned, mostly gutted and repaired before chickens move in there.
Questions: for this year, to let set, is their something recommended to put down inside and outside of barn for sanitizing? I can only think of lime, not sure if theirs a better option? Also, can chickens catch anything that previous conditions may or may not have left behind?
