Santa Monica "Peacock"

Hello,
I'm new to the forum. I was sent here from a friend to find hens for my coop. We have a small coop in our backyard in Santa Monica.

Intro:

1. I grew up with chickens, and we've had a couple since moving into this current place. We loved the fresh eggs.
2. no chickens, now. Our last, Peacock, died a year ago.
3. no breeds currently
4. the love the fresh eggs
5. gardening
6. we have no pets, and would like more chickens
7. friend told us about BYC

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

Not sure if you're looking already, but here's a few places:

Our Buy/Sell Forum chicks thread
Hatcheries online, let us know if you need some links.
Feed mills sometimes let you order chicks
Farm stores, but they are sold out fast.
Craigslist, but don't send any $$ before seeing the chicks.
Poultry groups for your state/area on Facebook, but same thing, do not send $$ to anyone. Pay when you go pick them up.
