Because apparently completely pointless agencies, ludicrous taxes, and a government so large our Founders would puke if they saw it are somehow advancing civilization? You do realize that most states have their own versions of most completely pointless Federal agencies, don't you? It's a double waste, in my opinion, but at least you'd still have your (completely ineffective) "safeguards" against corporations.

@Cupman - It's a concern among a lot of us. That said, as commander-in-chief, he'd have the power to withdraw our soldiers (they were sent over by the executive, after all), and, of course, he'd have the mighty veto. Besides, I suspect a lot of the pseudo-conservatives in Congress might jump on board with a lot of his fiscal ideas if they realized that they'd get a huge boost in approval - just try and tell me that eliminating the income tax wouldn't have approval numbers (and the economy) skyrocketing. I can tell you one thing, my family and many others could DEFINITELY use that money.

Yeah that's true about pulling our soldiers out and the veto. I'd hate to see what it did to ole Ron. He has been so consistent with his views and I'm afraid congress would not work with him at all, he'd have to go against a lot of his own promises. He ain't going to win, in order to win you have to be willing to sell your soul. Look at Romney, he has spent millions on attack ads and flip flopped on just about everything. He the textbook example of a politician who will say anything to get elected.

Unfair shot at Capvin. The man was a lawyer, he didn't write the rules. He did what he could with what he had. Santorum isn't some evil dude but his ideas are just outdated. I'm not saying all views from his faith are outdated I'm only suggesting his extreme views are outdated.. like contraception bans... But if you look at our history there was a time when such extreme views were the norm. Morality and society are always changing and seldom can you apply views from the 1600s to that of the present.

When he dropped out we lost our only chance at a rebirth of the inquisition.
