Sap on Baby Chick Beak

Our chicks are about one week old. Just a bit ago I went in to check on them and found one had sap on her beak. I gently cleaned most of it off with a damp napkin and my fingers - and found the source of the sap and cleaned that up as well. Her beak is still a little sticky. Does anyone know how I can get the rest of it off? I'm afraid of hurting her, especially because she's already a bit agitated because of it.

Thanks.

Try a q-tip and a drop of vegetable oil. Use the q-tip for a bit of friction. The oil should dissolve the sap. Let us know how it turns out.

I'm so glad!

A bill is in the mail. I only take payment of fuzzy butts.
