It’s our first time hatching our own eggs and our broody is a first timer too. And she’s being such a great mama.
The broody is a Rhode Island Red. The eggs she hatched are:
Gray: sapphire gem rooster with cream Legbar hen
Yellow: Prairie Bluebell Rooster with White Leghorn Hen
Now we can see what these crosses will look like.
I have another egg hatching that is a cream Legbar hen with the prairie bluebell rooster. Excited to see the difference between the two.
The last pic is the Sapphire Gem rooster as a chick. Looks exactly like the new chick that we’ve named Shadow! Same beak, same feet, same color, just not as big of a head
