I knew that this was still being rumor-milled around, but I had NO idea that anyone honestly still believed it! WOW. People haven't "forgot" that Obama "was Muslim," because, um...he wasn't. Wow. Just...wow.
This kind of "knowledge" is what we're up against, when people won't track down the source of what they're told. Just the TINIEST bit of investigation would've turned up the truth about the "Obama/Muslim" tall tale. I'm talking GOOGLE.
Actually, the Muslim rumor about Obama doesn't bother me, his racist preacher does. You can say what you want but he chose to attend regularly and listen to that man spew that garbage. I cannot vote for someone I feel is tainted by racism.
In addition to that, I cannot vote for someone who I feel will infringe on my second amendment rights.
This quote from Obama is actually the clincher for me because it shows how out of touch with working class people he is. He is an elitist and has no clue about what normal people like me think and feel and believe. It was given at a closed-door fund raiser in San Fransisco.
"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said. "And it's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
I asked on another thread for someone to explain to me why I should vote for the Democratic Party when their platform goes against some of my basic beliefs and feelings. No one even attempted. Now I will ask why I should vote for a man who is fundamentally out of touch with anything I believe.
I do not usually discuss politics here. I don't care how anyone chooses to respond to this. I just wanted to state my point.
