Sarplaninac's??

agreed, thats not a NORMAL sarpie...
a well bred properly trained and soclized sarpie is not normally unnessicarily human or dog aressive...protective yes, but never flat out agressive...
and a normal sarpie is not a wanderer, they are typically home bodies.

that dog may or may not be a sarpie, but its not a good example of the breed if it is and it IS a danger and liability, next time it got loose i woudlnt be so nice about it...if someone is keeping a dog with that kind of personality they need to be tripply sure that their boundry fences are secure...

Its 100% a sarpie, we have been neighbors with this guy for the last 7 years, he brought the pup (the dogs now 4) over when he got it and showed us the papers and everything he was so proud of him. He's a single guy that runs a good sized farm. Our lands are right next to each other with a fence line spliting the properties. We can see his dog clearly right at the fence line everyday checking its boundaries. I am not sure how its getting through. I can only think the reason its aggressive is because he might think we are in his territory???? Not sure honestly, but when our neighbor comes over with him or to get him he's very calm, obedient its like a switch in the dog.

Maybe its aggressive because of fear? I mean he can see our dogs if he comes right up to the fence, and our livestock so maybe he thinks he needs to protect his "family" from us?

He hasn't bitten but more like a very nasty bark/growl at us and our dogs and stalks us around the yard while we are waiting for his owner, but I tell you he hears his master and its like a 180 in character. We just have gotten good at catching on our property before he gets to close so our neighbor is called right away and he calls him. The dog means the world to this man and I wouldn't take that away unless he actually becomes bite aggressive.

Hm, very unusual situation , well I hope that you and your neighbor find the solution soon for everybody's sake...
