They are still doing that? I had them a few years ago, they were so awful when I canceled, kept me on the phone, were obnoxious, wouldn't take no for an answer just like you said. I finally got to 'no' but it was to the point where I had to be almost nasty towards them. I'm not usually like that, but they were practically holding me hostage. Talk about lousy business practice
.
Make them take no for an answer! Don't let them get away with being that obnoxious!
i had to close my checking account to get rid of them, they were taking money out every week,
We had AOL when we had dialup, when dh and I met he already had it and wanted to keep it. I had bell south. When we got rid of our home phone they (aol) wanted to give us a hard time at first. then we told them we won't be able to go online and if they still try to charge us we will cancel our credit card. they ended up canceling it no problem. I took down who i talked to, when , time, all the info i could get from them and a confirmation number. be stearn and insist they do it. ask for a superviser if you have to . i have done that on phone calls where people don't want to help you. it helps when you get there 'boss' on the line!
if you get rid of aol, you can still use your aol email address for free. that is what i have and dh
